FAQ EMS Systems and EMS Training

Questions and Answers about EMS Training

Your muscles are always and exclusively activated by (very low) electrical impulses, even without EMS training. Whenever you want to perform a movement, there is an electrical signal that travels from your brain through your central nervous system to the muscle, causing it to contract. We use this process in EMS training to activate the muscle. For example, with the PRO EMS Suit, we position 24 electrodes over your largest muscles. Through our app, you can control the currents of the electrodes in pairs. This way, you can precisely adjust via the app how strong and at what frequency your abdominal, arm, or leg muscles should be stimulated. Imagine wearing the PRO EMS Suit and training with the fitness program in our app. Here, you activate almost your entire skeletal musculature at a frequency of 85 Hz. This means your muscles contract and relax 85 times PER SECOND, contract and relax, and so on.

So: your glute, arm, leg, abdominal, and back muscles all work intensely at the same time for 20 minutes. Have you ever trained your biceps for 20 minutes? Here, you train almost ALL muscles simultaneously for 20 minutes—and without straining your joints. That’s why EMS training advances you so quickly and why it is joint-friendly. As a “bonus,” you also activate your muscles deeply and completely balanced, making it possible to correct muscular imbalances and optimally train your deep muscles.

BLE stands for Bluetooth Low Energy and is a particularly energy-efficient form of Bluetooth technology – it uses up to 10 times less power than conventional Bluetooth. This means, for example, that the battery of the POWERBox lasts significantly longer. Another advantage: BLE produces less radiation, which is especially important since the device is worn close to the body during training.
BLE is used for wireless data transmission and is employed in various applications – for example, for location functions in shopping centers. Therefore, the “location” setting on the smartphone may need to be enabled to fully use BLE. Important: the eaglefit app does not use location and does not access any location data. In accordance with eaglefit GmbH’s compliance guidelines, we do not collect or process any personal data during or after training. Registration or login is not required.

The eaglefit app works completely without GPS, without an internet connection, and without a mobile network – so no recording, storage, or transmission of (any) data takes place. Unlike other providers who often exchange data via cloud services, eaglefit deliberately prioritizes maximum data security and anonymity.

YES, since you can target the muscles specifically during EMS training WITHOUT putting strain on the joints, this type of training is ideally suited to support muscle building after surgery or during rehabilitation – of course, in close consultation with your doctor. Our Suit is a fitness product, not a medical device.

EMS stands for Electrical Muscle Stimulation (5 to 120 Hz), EMA stands for Electrical Muscle Activation (from 1,000 Hz). In EMS training, the current flows from the electrode through the skin to the nerve and from the nerve and the motor endplate into the muscle. The muscle cannot distinguish where the signal comes from and contracts.

The muscle cannot be "overstretched" during EMS training because it is protected from overexertion by natural protective mechanisms (such as the motor endplate). This is different with EMA training. Here, the current flows from the electrode through the skin directly into the muscle, without the nerves detecting it and without the signal having to pass through the neuromuscular endplate between nerve and muscle on its way to the muscle. This direct muscle activation can—when used absolutely professionally—be very intense and therefore interesting, but it poses a risk for inexperienced users or overenthusiastic trainers and should not be used by private individuals at home, because—unlike EMS training—muscle damage is also possible with EMA training.

You don’t need to wash the Suit after every workout because it is made from an antibacterial material. We have successfully tested the Suit with over 150 washes in the washing machine on the hand wash cycle, using the detergent WASH from Provilan. We expect the Suit to last on average 3-4 years, depending on how you care for it. To further extend the washing cycles, we recommend the antibacterial product FRESH from Provilan Clean, or our Lavender Detergent.
It is important NOT to use sports or other high-performance detergents, as these often contain surfactants or oxygen agents that can damage the electrodes.

Please check the correct size before ordering:
Refer to our size chart. The Suit is stretchable – don’t worry if some measurements differ by a few centimeters from the chart, as it stretches about 10 cm in every direction. The Suit should fit snugly but still allow enough freedom of movement. For example, if you have broad shoulders and a very narrow waist, choose the size so that it fits well in the chest area. In the accessories, you will find a waist belt that allows you to tighten the Suit slightly at the waist. (Already included with our EMS Suits) Important: Please try on the Suit with underwear the first time to check if it fits well. If it doesn’t fit, you can exchange it free of charge – we cover both shipping and return costs.

No, you don’t have to wear anything under the Suit, unless you wear functional underwear for hygiene reasons in a studio where a Suit is used by multiple customers. To transmit the signals, the functional underwear must be moistened. Our dry Suits can be worn directly on the skin without water. This way, the sensation is more direct and the stimulation more intense than in the studio.

Yes, for example, it is possible to put on a tracksuit and go jogging.

(…with 20 minutes in the cardio program). If you go jogging or cycling for an hour, for example, skip the impulses for the first 20 minutes, then activate them for about 20 minutes, and turn them off again for the last 20 minutes.

Yes, there is a detailed German/multilingual manual and a training poster with exercises. In our eagleClub, you will find additional video workouts in German to follow along with (you can try eagleClub free for the first 14 days).

Yes, you can specifically train your endurance skeletal muscles just like the skeletal muscles for maximum strength. The slow-twitch, red muscles (endurance) are trained in the range of 5 to 30 Hz, while the fast-twitch, white muscles (maximum strength) are trained in the range of 50 to 85 Hz.

So, for example, if you choose our metabolism program at 7 Hz and do cardio exercises, that is an optimal endurance training.

You can clean your EMS product in the washing machine on a gentle cycle at 30 °C and a maximum of 900 rpm. To do this, remove the POWERBox, close the zipper and/or all Velcro fasteners of your EMS product, turn it inside out, and use the supplied laundry bag. Your detergent must not contain bleach or fabric softeners. We advise against using regular full or sports detergents, as they can damage the electrodes and wiring. We recommend: our detergent Lavendelkraft (a sample is included with your order) or WASH by Provilan. A detailed care guide is included with your order.

No, you are completely free in your movements and barely feel the ultra-thin stretch suit during your workout.

Yes, the electrodes are connected by a special conductive, elastic sewing thread, allowing you to perform all movements without any restrictions.

No, since we are working here with a real dry Suit that no longer has cotton (=non-conductor) over the electrodes, this Suit truly works dry. Because the electrodes lie directly on the skin, the current can be transmitted better and over a larger area. The impulse penetrates deeper into the muscle, and the sensation is more pleasant than with EMS clothing.

Our dry electrodes conduct 100%, but every person’s skin is different. In winter, the skin is typically a bit drier, so you may need to moisten the electrodes slightly. Or if you have very dry skin and don’t want to warm up much, or if you have heavy body hair, it can be useful to use an electrode spray. The electrodes conduct even when completely dry, but your skin does not. Therefore, it needs to be a little moist (like a fogged-up pair of glasses) to conduct well.

Our products come with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase for you as a consumer. The warranty covers all manufacturing defects as well as material and workmanship faults under normal use. Damage caused by improper use or normal wear and tear is excluded. In the event of a warranty claim, please contact our customer service with your order number and a brief description of the problem. Our customer service is located in southern Germany, and in most cases, we can provide quick and professional assistance.

By adjusting your body position and the angle, you can easily and quickly increase or decrease the intensity of the exercises. You perform the exercises in functional chains that correspond to your natural movement patterns. Ideal for strength, coordination, flexibility, and endurance. Since you train with your own body weight, the workout is especially gentle on the joints. The Sling-Trainer is very lightweight and can be taken anywhere: to the office, on vacation, to the park – even on a sailing yacht 😊

Absolutely! It can be quickly attached to a door using our door anchor. There is also the option of wall or ceiling mounting with the eaglefit oval wall and ceiling bracket (make sure to use appropriately load-bearing walls or ceilings, and always use a heavy-duty mounting device).

Yes! The Sling-Trainer is sturdy and weather-resistant, so you can easily use it outdoors.
Trees or swing bars are suitable for secure attachment. Be sure to check the stability and, in the case of a branch, ensure it is strong enough. To keep the Sling-Trainer a reliable companion for many years, do not leave it outside in wind and weather.

Wall or Ceiling:
Make sure the wall or ceiling is sufficiently stable. The mounting device must be able to safely support heavy loads as well as play and sports equipment. We recommend using the oval ceiling mount for this purpose (included with some models).

Door:
With the door anchor, you can turn almost any free space in front of a door into your personal workout zone. The door anchor is fixed by closing the door between the door frame and the door leaf and is included with some models.

Outdoor:
Outdoors, trees, railings, or swing bars are suitable for mounting – pay attention to stability and sufficient thickness of branches.

Bars/Rib Walls:
Make sure the rib wall or pull-up bar does not loosen and can withstand the pulling force. Check the secure hold of the entire setup before training.
