If you like our recipes and nutrition tips on Facebook or Instagram If you've been following us, you've probably noticed that we generally avoid table sugar (sucrose). The reason? Sugar acts like a drug and activates the same reward centers in the brain as cocaine. This is scientifically proven.
But sugar addiction isn't the only problem. Too much sugar leads to a host of health problems: obesity, type 2 diabetes, tooth decay, skin diseases, mental illnesses like depression, sleep disorders, and general fatigue. Sugar plays no role in the natural human diet – refined sugar has only been part of our diet for about 300 years.

How can you change your sugar consumption?
- Avoid convenience foods and highly processed foods. They often contain hidden sugar.
- Get used to it slowly: Reduce sugar gradually rather than giving it up completely right away.
- Relax in stressful situations to avoid cravings. Yoga, walking, or meditation can help.
- Use natural sugar alternatives like agave syrup, date syrup, or coconut blossom syrup. They contain valuable minerals and vitamins.

- Don’t avoid fructose from fruit – it provides important vitamins and minerals.
- Use spices like cinnamon, cocoa, or vanilla to reduce your cravings for sweets.
- Distract yourself when you get a sweet tooth. Exercise or a hobby can help.
